Mermaid

Christian

I found a picture of my boyfriend from like 3 years ago and I decided to draw it, and add his favorite things like a wolf and waves and planets. I used watercolor and sharpie and pencil for his face. I based it off of an earlier drawing I did of a wolf
And he turned out to like it a lot. I like drawing in this style. Watercolor is my favorite medium because you can blend colors. If I were to redo this I would use a more recent picture. Overall I really liked this piece.

Summer pineapple

This was assigned as "summer". I picked a pineapple because its my favorite fruit. To eat and I love how it looks. Recently I've been obsessed with pineapples so, I decided to do that. I used my favorite mediums; watercolor and sharpie. I based this off of a picture I took over spring break. I like how this turned out. I donated it for the end of the year show and when I got there it was gone I hope it sold!!if I were to re do this project I would follow the picture more closely. I kinda made up the shadows and colors but when it came to the shape I looked off my phone. Overall I'm pleased.

Ben

Unfortunately I do not have a picture of the finished project. This was another "your choice project"  I decided to draw a picture I took of my friend Ben. I chose Ben because he had been my friend for 14 years and he said he likes my drawings so I drew him... I kept this simple and just used a #2 pencil. It took about a day to complete it. Overall I like how it turned out. If I were to re do it I would have not done one eye and the. Stepped away, because stopping for a break made me lose a little technique. He likes it, so I guess that's good!

M.I.A.

This project was a "your choice" project assigned by my drawing 2 class. My friend had requested a painting of her favorite musician M.I.A. The background is loosely based on her album cover. With geometric designs and colors, the contrast is between the face and the  background is prominent. The mediums I used are colored pencil, sharpie, and watercolor paint. I really liked how this turned out. The drips of watercolor were difficult, because the paper wouldn't let it freely drip so I had to hold the paper vertically and blow the colors down. Overall I'm proud of this piece. If I were to do it over I would focus on making the pattern more symmetrical.
